Old Town Square Hotel and Residence

The Old Town Square Hotel and Residence boasts historic beauty alongside a modern ambience in their ten comfortable and luxurious suites. They offer a level of service that is only available through a family-run accommodation. The hotel incorporates two adjacent historical buildings, which are registered on the List of Prague's Architectural Monuments as well as on the UNESCO Monuments List.

One of the buildings, known as "U Lazara" dates as far back as 1359. It transformed from Romanesque architecture to full transformation into the Gothic style in the 14th century. The building has a history of many owners and in the second half of the 17th century the house became the ownership of the Cartesian monastery who added a small private house chapel on the third floor. This chapel contains the original wood beam ceilings, ornamented with figural paintings and can be attributed to an unknown artist of the early Renaissance.

The neighbouring house has been known since the 18th century as the house of the White Horse (Bily Konicek). The house dates back to as far as the 12th Century has Romanesque cellars below the buiding which preserved the original premises. In 1493, the bulding changed ownership to Jiri od Jednorozce, or Jiri of Unicorn, who placed a picture of a unicorn outside, where the house received its first name, the Golden Unicorn.

Old Town Square Hotel and Residence has just opened Cafe Bily Konicek, a lovely contemporary spot below the hotel with vaulted ceilings and large windows to watch the world outside. The menu has a large variety of homemade, fresh foods and a wide selection of wines from around the world. There are all types of coffee as well as WIFI in the cafe.

In the 12th century Romanesque cellars of the building, there is a restaurant and dance club, the Cellars Bily Konicek. The restaurant offers international and Czech cuisine and also a lounge area for drinks and dancing. Our restaurant can accommodate you and your guests for small conferences or weddings.
