This tour is an examination of the rich and turbulent history of Prague's Jewish Quarter (Josefov). Now, one of the most expensive areas in the city, the area was first developed as a Jewish ghetto as early as the 10th century. Since this time, the Jewish population of Prague was subjected to extreme discrimination and sometimes violent pogroms. constantly being targeted and stripped of civil rights.
Conversely, Prague became the center of the Jewish Golden Age, and during the 18th century had the largest Jewish population anywhere in the world at that time. The tour will explore how the architecture developed in result to overcrowding, flooding and a lack of resources, making it completely unique to any other place in Prague.

The tour will walk from Old Town Square to the Jewish Quarter. The tour will visit Franz Kafka's house adn then go on into the older part of the Jewish Quarter. The tour includes entrance fees into the Old Jewish Cemetary and two synagogues. The tour will finish at the Old New Synagogue, where guests will have a choice whether to purchase a ticket and continue unaccompanied by the guide.
